The polar vortex may be gone, but that doesn’t mean winter is over. Here is a recipe for hot chocolate from scratch that will keep you warm through these cold weeks. You can add whip cream and marshmallows, or make it extra chocolatey by adding chocolate syrup.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 cup milk
Pinch of salt
(Optional)
Marshmallows
Directions:
1. In a mug, stir together sugar, cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of milk until thoroughly mixed and no clumps of cocoa powder is left. Then add the rest of the milk and stir.
2. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute and stir, and microwave for an additional 30 seconds, or until hot. Add a pinch of salt and stir again.
3. Add any additional toppings, such as marshmallows, and enjoy.
