Police Blotter: Oct. 29 - Nov. 4

Sunday, Oct. 29

Ypsilanti Police Department reported non family aggravated assault at 2:43 a.m. The crime occurred at Washtenaw Avenue and Ballard Street at the same time, with the case remaining open. 

Individuals, lodged with outstanding warrants, were arrested with assistance by another agency at W Michigan Avenue and N. Hamilton Street at 1:52 a.m. The individuals were transporting an open container of liquor and driving with a suspended license. 

Graffiti on the bathroom wall in Halle Library was reported to DPS at 4:06 p.m. 

Monday, Oct. 30

An individual failed to stop after committing a hit-and-run PDC (property damage collision). The crime was committed between 7 a.m. and noon. 

A student admitted to breaking the gate arm in front of the Mckenny paid parking lot at 10:12 p.m. The same student was driving with a suspended license and reported for such. 

Tuesday, Oct. 31

A bicycle was stolen from the front of Buell Residence Hall at 12:38 a.m. The crime was reported till 12:58 a.m. and remains open. 

An individual was arrested with assistance from another agency at Normal Street and Washtenaw Avenue at 12:07 p.m. Subject was lodged with WCSO DV warrant. 

A driver and passenger were reported for having an open container of alcohol in their car at 5:27 p.m. The passenger was arrested (with assistance from another agency) for outstanding warrants, and the driver was cited for driving with a suspended license. Crime was committed at Woburn Drive and Leforge Road. 

An individual stole items from an unsecured locker and proceeded to illegally use a credit card at Olds Robb Student Rec between 8 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. The crime was reported at 8:25 p.m. and remains open. 

An individual was reported for possession of marijuana at 10:07 p.m. at Westview Apartments Q. A stolen hangtag was recovered from the same individual. 

Wednesday, Nov. 1

A hit-and-run accident was reported at the Parking Structure Lot at 5:30 p.m. The crime occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. 

A vehicle was impounded for improper plating and outstanding parking tickets at the Buell Meters at 5:45 p.m. 

A driver was arrested for operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The crime occurred at 9:18 p.m. at Ballard Street and Michigan Avenue.

The odor of marijuana at Hill Residence Hall was reported at 11:01 p.m. The crime was committed at the same time. 

Thursday, Nov. 2

An underage student was reported for minor possession of alcohol at 3:50 p.m. The crime occurred at the same time at Buell Hall. 

A student reported a hit-and-run at the Parking Structure Lot at 6:41 p.m. The crime occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1.

Multiple items stolen from multiple students from Olds Robb Student Rec was reported at 9:02 p.m. The crime occurred between 4 p.m. and 9:02 p.m. 

Friday, Nov. 3

Suspected embezzlement from a student account was reported at 12:21 p.m. The crime occurred at Alexander Music Building between Nov. 1, 12:00 a.m. and Nov. 3, 12:21 p.m. 

Saturday, Nov. 4

An individual was arrested with assistance from another agency while lodged with a Failure to Appear (FTA) warrant. The crime occurred at N Hamilton Street and Florence Street at 12:46 a.m. 

An individual was lodged with a Failure to Appear (FTA) warrant at Oakwood Street at 4:55 a.m. 

The navigational system was stolen from a vehicle at S Huron Street between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. The crime was reported at 8:32 p.m. The navigational system was stolen from another vehicle on the same street between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., but wasn’t reported till 5:43 p.m. 

An individual was reported for driving with a suspended license at 6:03 p.m. The crime occurred at the same time at Washtenaw Avenue and Perrin Street 

A student admitted to smoking marijuana at Hoyt Residence Hall at 9:58 p.m. The crime was reported at the same time.
