Cheesy Food Truck on Campus

The Cheese Street food truck will be on EMU’s campus Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. until the end of April. If the trial goes well, they will be back in the Fall.

The business was started by three brothers: Jeff and Jordan Ceresnie and Ben Schroder. They opened their doors a year ago in the Ann Arbor area, however, they are currently trying out their business on EMU’s campus. While Ann Arbor was their starting point, it wasn’t very food truck friendly.

“Legally in Ann Arbor you’re not just allowed to park in public and serve food,” Jeff said.

Jeff and Jordan worked in various food industries in Ann Arbor and Jeff had a food cart on his own before joining with his brothers and getting a food truck together two years ago.

“For us it was a way for us to come together as brothers, as twins, you know, and then when we were at a festival together we saw the magic that was there and said, why are we not doing this full-time?” Jeff said.

While every business may have its own personal reason to start a food truck, these brothers had a more nostalgic approach.

“For us it’s comfort food. It's about soul food. Something that brings people back,” Jeff said. “Everybody loves grilled cheese, we love grilled cheese and so our goal is to make simple yet gourmet twists on such a delicious, nostalgic food.”
