The 1975 performed at EMU

The 1975 visited Eastern Michigan University to perform at the Convocation Center, Friday Nov. 11, 2016, The 1975 are a rock band from Wilmslow, Cheshire in England that has been together since 2002.

The center was packed full of people for the concert with ticket/will call line wrapping all around the inside of the building. The opening act took stage at 8 o’clock and The 1975 took the stage at 9 PM and played an hour and a half set list.

Their set list included many of their fans’ favorites including: Love Me, She’s American, falling for you, and Girls.

Their sound was a mix of rock, and alternative with a hint of electronic dance music. The band has an impressive sound and dynamic fan base, with fans ranging in age from 5-55.

The stage display lit up with all different colors and had city buildings and different scenes projected throughout their set up. I was in awe the entire time of how breathtaking their light display was.

The most memorable moment of the performance was during the last song. The lead singer of the band shouted, “On the count of four we’re gonna jump. One, two.. one, two, f*****g jump!” and the entire stadium started jumping and going crazy.
