Sports briefs: 9-26

Football picks up its third win of the year in a 27-24 win over Wyoming. Eagles still find a way to win, even after four interceptions, to give the Eagles their best start since 1995.

Men’s golf was suspended due to darkness on Sunday at the Windon Memorial Classic, as the team looks towards the final round. The Eagles currently have three golfers tied for eighth at 142.

Women’s golf finished in seventh over the weekend at the Fossum Invitational. Sophomore Penelope Guilleaux led the Eagles as she hit 219 which placed her in the no. 5 position overall.

Soccer dropped both games over the weekend against Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. The Eagles were outscored 7-1 against their opponents as they struggled to score.

The tennis team finished their weekend at the Gopher Invitational as they went 3-1 on the last day. They now will head down to Evanston, Ill. to compete at the Wildcat Invitational, next weekend.

Volleyball was able to kick of its Mid-American Conference matches as it went 1-1 on opening weekend. The women beat Toledo 3-2 and then fell to Ball State 3-2 as they traveled on the road for both matches.
