Monday, Feb. 22, 2016.
- A patrol car from the Department of Public Safety pulled over a car for going the wrong way on a one way street, Monday, Feb. 22. This was at 12:55 p.m., near the intersection of Huron River Drive and Lowell Street. When the officer approached the driver's window they could smell marijuana. Upon searching the car, they found marijuana and paraphernalia. The 20 year old non-student was cited for the paraphernalia.
- Student Housing called DPS at 8:00 a.m., Monday, to report that a student in its system had been the victim of stalking. Between 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 12 and 8:00 a.m. on Feb. 16, the student received two sexually explicit notes under their door. The student did not contact DPS - Student Housing did. DPS has no suspects yet in this alleged harassment case.
- Student Housing called DPS at 5:36 p.m. because marijuana could be smelled from a student's room in Hoyt. DPS found two people in the room with marijuana. One of them was a student, one a guest. The student has been referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
- A customer at a business, not owned by the university, called DPS at 6:28 p.m. When officers arrived to the business, at the corner of Huron River Drive and Ann Street, the non-EMU student claimed they were assaulted by an employee in the store. According to the EMU Crime Log the "customer reports that [the] store clerk spit on him." The victim said he does not want to press charges.
Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.
- Patrolling DPS officers noticed a man drinking from an open intoxicant at the bus stop at Pearl and Washington Streets, downtown Ypsilanti. The 49 year old male non-student was also in possession of marijuana and had several bench warrants out for his arrest. The man was "arrested for warrants and found in possession of marijuana and open intoxicants" according to the EMU Crime Log.
Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
- DPS assisted the Ypsilanti Police Department with an assault call at 2:17 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24. This was on Green Road. Because this is an YPD case, DPS would not make any further comment.
No crimes were recorded for Thursday, Feb. 25.
Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.
- The parking lot box near the Sellers parking meters was found pushed over and destroyed at 3:03 p.m. DPS is reviewing camera footage to determine how this happened.
No crimes were reported over the weekend of break.
