DPS was called to Walton hall at 2:48 p.m. to deal with a student smoking marijuana. The student would not give their name, was taken into DPS custody, and then agreed to give their name. No marijuana was actually found on the student.
DPS pulled over a car for a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. at the corner of Washtenaw and Oakwood. The car’s owner had bought their new car, then stole a license plate from another car and attached it to their back bumper to avoid paying the fee for transferring the title. The non-EMU student was arrested for possession of stolen property.

DPS pulled over a car for having suspended license plates at the corner of Lowell and Jarvis at 3:16 a.m. The officer smelled marijuana, searched the car and found some. DPS has submitted charges against the non-EMU student to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor. The suspect was released after processing, but their car was impounded.
DPS pulled over a car near the corner of Huron River Drive and Le Forrest for an equipment violation at 6:13 p.m. An equipment violation is a faulty piece of equipment on a car, such as a broken headlight or turn signal. Marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia were found in the car. The non-EMU student was cited for drug paraphernalia.

An anonymous caller had DPS go to Sellers over the smell of marijuana. At 2:16 a.m. the student that was inside the room where the smell was coming from “admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana” according to the EMU crime log. This case has been referred to student conduct.
An EMU student reported being the victim of theft in the Halle Library at 8:35 a.m. According to the EMU crime log, the student’s “laptop was taken from the third floor while unattended” the previous day. DPS says that the student left the building sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday night. DPS is reviewing camera footage.
