Eastern Michigan University men's basketball guard Raven Lee has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules according to a press release from the Eastern Michigan Athletic Department.
Murphy declined comment regarding why Lee was supended beyond breaking team rules and how long the suspension would be.
"He won't be gone long," Murphy said after Friday's game against Vermont. "Sometimes when you don't do the right thing, you learn from it."
Lee averaged 16.7 points per game last season and was selected onto the Mid-American Conference West Division Preseason All-MAC Team last month.
"We hold our student-athletes to the highest of standards," Murphy stated in the press release. "Unfortunately, Raven failed to meet these standards. We expect that he will learn from this experience. We look forward to Raven's return."
The Eagles travel to Oakland University on Nov. 18 and Michigan State University on Nov. 23 and it is unknown if Lee's suspension will be lifted by then.
Update: According to EagleTotem.com, Lee's suspension is six games. The Eastern Michigan Athletic Department declined comment.
