Women's cross country finishes in 24th place at Pre-Nationals

The Eastern Michigan University women’s cross country team placed 24th at the NCAA Division One Pre-Nationals Invitational on Saturday Oct. 17.  Finishing with a total of 630 points, the Eagles bested No. 27 Texas while placing two runners in the top 100.

Jordan McDermitt and Alsu Bogdanova continue to be the top runners for the Eagles as they finished in 45th place with a time of 20:42.2 and 81st with a time of 21:02.5.  Other runners include Sofie Gallein, who finished 109th with a time of 21:11.9, and Sydney Meyers. Meyers is continuing her great freshman year with a 170th place finish and a time of 21:34.5.  Amy Frauhammer, Danielle Bentzley, and Lauren Pottschmidt rounded out the Eagles with times of 22:03.4, 22:44.4, and 23:26.1.

The Eagles will have less than a week’s rest before heading out to Dexter to compete in the EMU Fall Classic on Oct. 23. This will be the last race before the Mid-American Conference Championships on Oct 31.
