Eric Hohnke and Marissa Kurtzhals will be starring in the show.

EMU Alumni to perform original sketch show

Eastern Michigan University alumni, Kristin Anne Danko, Eric Hohnke and Marissa Kurtzhals, are to participate in their very own, originally written theatrical performance, The Big Game Weekend.

Danko will be directing the performance and Hohnke and Kurtzhals will be starring as fifteen different characters, including themselves.

The Big Game Weekend is a sketch show bound to deliver a lot of laughs. A sketch show includes multiple story lines and characters. This sketch show includes eleven scenes and characters that are based on real people.

The plot of the story is inspired by the University of Michigan and Michigan State University rivalry and it will be performed during the week of the popular football game.

Danko, Artistic and Executive Director of the Neighborhood Theatre Group in Ypsilanti, says students will really enjoy this performance.

“It's a really fun show and a great way to take your mind off classes,” said Danko. “There are even parts of the show where we engage through social media.”

The show will be performed at 8 p.m. on Oct. 15-17, at Dreamland Theatre in Ypsilanti. General admission is $10 and it’s only $5 for students. For more information you can email Neighborhood Theatre Group at neighborhoodtheatregroup@gmail.com.
