The Eastern Michigan women’s cross country team placed sixth in the Virginia Invitational this past Saturday. The Eagles had seven runners crossing the line before the 20 minute mark, including four runners in the top 50. They finished sixth among 15 teams, finishing with 184 points

Jordan McDermitt and Sofie Gallein continue their streak of being the top runners for the Eagles, with McDermitt finishing 20th with a time of 17:48.3 and Sofie Gallein finishing 24th with a time of 17:51.2. Other runners include Alsu Bogdanova who finished 31st with a time of 18:05.1, and freshman Sydney Meyers, who finished 48th with a time of 18:31.8.

While not the Eagles best performance of the season, the Eagles look to prepare for a comeback when both the women’s and men’s cross country teams head out to the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2, in South Bend, Ind.
