Eastern Michigan women’s cross country team continued their momentum of success at the George Dales Invitational Friday evening in Kalamazoo.
The Eastern Michigan women’s cross country team put up 21 points to secure the victory, earning them a 14 point win over Western Michigan. Eastern would prove to be strong runners, with all of the women finishing in the top 20, including four in the top five positions
Jordan McDermitt and Sophie Gallein were once again the top runners for the Eagles, coming in second and third place with times of 20:54.24 and 21:28.81. Other Eagle runners include Alsu Bogdanova and Danielle Bentzley, who came in fourth and fifth place with times of 21:45.56 and 21:51.23. EMU freshman Sydney Meyers would earn a seventh place finish with a time of 22:11.75 and senior Amy Fruhammer would finish tenth with a time of 22:21.23.
The women’s cross country team will have a bit of break before heading out to compete in the Virginia Invitational on Sept. 26 in Earlysville, VA.
