Presidential impeachment hearing set for April 7

The impeachment hearing of student body president Desmond Miller has been set for Tuesday, April 7 at 8 p.m., according to an email sent out by vice president Steven Cole on Thursday.

The hearing will be held in the Student Center.

"I looked carefully at the calendar and concluded the 7th was best because it does not conflict with Excellence Week or Student Government elections [both this week], or SG committees and Greek Week [both next week], and gives the parties ample time to prepare their written materials and presentations," Cole said in the email.

All written materials intended for use during the hearing will be handed in to judicial sergeant David Konarske.

Konarske and Cole have recused themselves from presiding over the hearing and from presiding pursuant to Student Government bylaws; speaker Kiera Fegan will preside instead.

On Thursday, the Student Government presidential race for the 2014-15 school year came to a close, with the Steven Cole-Anjali Martin ticket taking the victory. Cole and Martin will take over the presidential and vice presidential offices April 27.
