NFL scouts come to EMU

As spring football practice continues at Eastern Michigan University, professional scouts stopped by to watch EMU seniors work out.

A total of 18 scouts from the National Football League and Canadian Football League visited EMU for the event which allowed the former Eagles to display their talents in a format that mirrors the NFL Scouting Combine.

The students who participated were:

  • Rob Bolden (Orchard Lake, Mich. - Orchard Lake St. Mary's-Penn State-LSU)
  • Ryan Brumfield (Chester Springs, Pa. - Owen J. Robert)
  • Pudge Cotton(Maywood, Ill.-Walther Lutheran)
  • Willie Creear (Seattle, Wash. - Lindbergh-Butte JC)
  • Michael Denson(Ann Arbor, Mich.-Huron)
  • Owen Dubiel (East Jackson, Mich. - East Jackson)
  • Lincoln Hansen(Omaha, Neb. - Millard North)
  • Bronson Hill (Grand Rapids, Mich. - Catholic Central)
  • Kevin Johnson(McKeesport, Pa. - McKeesport)
  • Oliver Kathalay (Mississauga, Ontario - Avondale (Ga.))
  • Tyreese Russell (Melrose Park, Ill. - Walter Lutheran)
  • Gary White Jr. (Raleigh, N.C. - Southeast Raleigh-Grossmont)

They were timed on 40-yard dash, cone drills and 60-yard shuttles. They played at specific positions and then were watched in the weight room doing bench work and flexibility tests.

EMU is hard at work for its 2015 spring football practice sessions with the annual spring Game scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at 3 p.m. inside "The Factory" at Rynearson Stadium.
