As spring workouts begin for Eastern Michigan University’s football team, head coach Chris Creighton and his team can now start the process of game-planning officially with the schedule released for the upcoming season.
For the third straight season, EMU opens up at home welcoming in Old Dominion Sept. 5 to Rynearson Stadium. The Eagles will look to avenge a 17-3 defeat at the hand of the Monarchs down in Norfolk, Va., last season.
EMU will then head west to the University of Wyoming before returning home Week 3 for an early conference game hosting Ball State.
Following another home game hosting Army for the first time since 2012, the Eagles travel south for a match with SEC powerhouse LSU in Baton Rouge to end the non-conference schedule.
The official MAC schedule begins with Akron making a visit to Ypsilanti for the first time since 2011. A tough road stretch follows for the Eagles travelling to Toledo and Northern Illinois in back-to-back weeks.
The highlight of the season for EMU appears to be in week nine when Western Michigan comes to town for a Thursday night game.
EMU finishes the season at Miami hosting the University of Massachusetts for the first time ever and finishing at Central Michigan.
