Monday, Jan. 19

Police noticed a subject near Washtenaw Avenue and Hewitt Road at 6:56 p.m. urinating in public. When approaching the subject, police found him to be intoxicated. The subject was cited for public urination.

Tuesday, Jan. 20

During a traffic stop near Washington Street and Ferris Street at 5:05 p.m., police noticed visible drug paraphernalia in the back seat of the vehicle. The driver admitted to being in possession of drug paraphernalia and being in possession of marijuana. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

During a traffic stop near Summit Street and Pearl Street at 5:54 p.m., police noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After searching the vehicle the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Police were called to Best Hall about the smell of marijuana coming from a dorm room at 11:31 p.m. When police arrived the students admitted to smoking in the room. Police searched the room and found the students to be in the possession of narcotic paraphernalia and marijuana. The students were cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Wednesday, Jan. 21

During a traffic stop near Cornell Street and Huron River Drive at 8:31 p.m., police noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, a student at EMU, admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. The subject was cited for possession of marijuana and for possession narcotic paraphernalia. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Thursday, Jan. 22

Police were called to Phelps Hall about the smell of marijuana coming from a room at 12:48 a.m. When police arrived, students admitted to smoking in the room and police confiscated marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia from the students. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Police were called to Walton Hall at 10:16 p.m. about the smell of marijuana coming from a dorm room. When police arrived the students admitted to smoking marijuana off campus and were not found to have any in illicit substances in their possession. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Police were called to Phelps Hall at 11:02 p.m. about disorderly students in a dorm room. When police arrived the students attempted to leave the room. Police searched the room and found the students to be in possession of prescription pills, synthetic marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia. The students were cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standard.

Friday, Jan. 23

A residence hall employee in Hill Hall reported a stolen fire extinguisher at 10:07 p.m. The police currently have no suspects.

Police were called to Hill Hall at 11:13 p.m. about the smell of marijuana coming from a room. When police arrived, the student admitted to smoking marijuana off campus. The case will be sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Saturday, Jan. 24

Police were called to Wise Hall at 2:35 a.m. about an argument happening in a hallway. When police arrived the students were yelling in the hallway and the police broke up the argument. The case will be handled by the Housing and Residence staff and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

During a traffic stop near Washington Street and Emmet Street at 9:31 p.m., police found the driver to being intoxicated while driving. After searching the driver police found him to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The driver was arrested on local warrants. The case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.
