IGG gallery to open in Ford

On Monday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m., the Intermedia Gallery Group will open their Annual Juried Student Show in the Ford Gallery. The show will be open to the public every weekday, 10-5 p.m., until Feb. 11.

Presenting undergraduate student artists come from the 10 areas of concentration offered in the Art Department.

The show gives students the real world experience of having their work presented and judged publicly. A local artist will judge the art work and present awards at the reception at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The reception will run from 4-7 p.m.

Last year’s show was juried by Alison Wong, the co-founder and director of Butter Projects, a studio and exhibition space run by artists in Royal Oak, MI.. She studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and, along with directing Butter Projects, she is an Alumni Relations Manager at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Besides earning LBC credit, attendees get the chance to support their fellow students and learn about the creativity happening right here on EMU’s campus.
