Death on westbound I-94 ruled a suicide

Police have determined that the death resulting in a man found along the Huron Street ramp to westbound I-94 was a suicide, according to Sgt. Thompson.

Police were called to the scene at about 10:30 a.m. Dec.17 after a semi-truck driver observed an individual along the side of the road, said Karen Gabrys, a public affairs specialist for Huron Valley Ambulance.

She said the individual was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by MLive.

The man, Richard Cosme, 26, was a United States Marine and a 2006 graduate of Milan High School. Cosme served one tour of duty in Iraq.

Funeral services were held at the People’s Presbyterian Church, located at 210 Smith Street in Milan, Dec. 20 with full military honors. He was laid to rest in Marble Park Cemetery, also located in the city of Milan.

He was survived by loving family and friends.
