Police blotter, Dec. 6

Monday, Dec. 1

Police received an anonymous third party report about the possibility of unwanted and inappropriate touching. The crime occurred at Jones pool at 11:52 a.m. The case has been sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards and will be handled by the Eastern Michigan University Title IX office.

Police were called to Putnam Hall at 11:13 p.m. about the smell of marijuana coming from a dorm room. When the police arrived the students admitted to smoking marijuana in the dorm room, but were not in possession of any paraphernalia. The case has been sent to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Police were called to Best Hall at 11:21 p.m. due to the smell of marijuana coming from a dorm room. When officers arrived, the students admitted to smoking marijuana. They may face discipline under the department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Tuesday, Dec. 2

Police were called to the Student Center about a student being threatened by a disorderly subject at 5:21 p.m. The police separated the individuals and one of the subjects was escorted out of the Student Center. There are currently no criminal charges.

A student called the police about a stolen purse from the Student Center at 11:47 p.m. The purse was unattended and police currently have no suspects and the purse has not been recovered.

Wednesday, Dec. 3

Police were called to the North Campus parking lot at 12:33 a.m. about two students arguing. Police arrived and broke up the argument. The case has been sent to the office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

During a traffic stop near Adams Street and Emmet Street at 2:14 a.m. police smelled alcohol on the driver of the vehicle. Police found that the driver was operating while intoxicated and was arrested. The case will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office.

During a traffic stop at 4:35 p.m. near LeForge Road and Railroad Street police noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the vehicle was searched the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and for possession of marijuana.

Police were called to Wise Hall about a physical altercation between two students at 5:34 p.m. When police arrived they were able to break up the students. The case is being handled by the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards and Housing and Residence Life staff.

Police were called to Sellers Hall at 9:50 p.m. about a group of students arguing by the Sellers Hall parking meters. Police arrived at the scene and the fight immediately broke up. The case is being sent to the office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Thursday, Dec. 4

Police were called to Pittman Hall about a minor in possession of alcohol at 1:15 a.m. When police arrived they found the student to be consuming and to be in the possession of alcohol. The student was cited for minor in possession and has been turned over to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Police were called to the Mayhew Lot about a subject attempting to steal from a vehicle at 12:39 p.m. When police arrived the subject was found to be stealing the registration from inside the vehicle and attempted to resist officers. The vehicle registration was recovered and the subject was arrested.
