As the 2015 Eastern Michigan women’s gymnastics team prepares for its season, which starts in January, it will have an exhibition meet against the University of Michigan this Sunday, Dec. 7, at Crisler Center. The exhibition is at 2 p.m. and is free to the public.
Last year, the Eagles finished with a record of 6-9 and placed 6th in the Mid American Conference Championship meet.
The Eagles have seen a lot of change since last March with longtime coach Steve Wilce's retirement and the departure of seven girls.
Since then they have hired Jay Santos as head coach and have added six freshman.
The Eagles will look toward senior Anna Willette, who went to NCAA regionals last year in Baton Rouge, to help lead them into the season.
Looking Ahead:
After Sunday's exhibition meet, the Eagles' season will officially start when they host Temple University on Jan. 9, 2015. The meet will be at the Convocation Center and starts at 7 p.m. This season will mark the first season their meets will be held at the Convocation Center rather than Bowen Field House.
