The Eastern Michigan soccer team snapped a three game road losing streak Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Mid-American Conference rival Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
The win also gave junior goalkeeper Megan McCabe her seventh shutout of the season for the Eagles (10-6-1, 6-4 MAC). She stopped all three shots she faced.
"I think she was sharp today," Hall said.
He also credited the seniors, who met with him before the game to address the loss to Northern Illinois and adjust.
"I think they [the seniors] did a great job of bringing them [the rest of the team] in," Hall said. "This was more of a team win."
Ellie Tillar scored the lone goal for Eastern in the 35th minute.
Rachel Washburn served in a corner kick, which Emily Dzik took and placed a header across the front of the goal. Tillar found the back of the net with a header of her own.
Stephanie Heber started for the Broncos (10-7-1, 4-5-1 MAC). She made two saves on three shots.
Looking Ahead
The Eagles will wrap up the regular season Thursday when they travel to Bowling Green, Ohio for a matchup against Bowling Green.
Eastern last played the Falcons on the road Oct. 4, 2013 – winning 2-1.
Bowling Green allowed an own goal (46’) and Stephanie Clarke (50’) scored on a penalty kick for the Eagles.
McCabe started for Eastern, allowing one goal to the then-winless Falcons.
"BG always gives us problems," Hall said. "They'll be super organized [when we play them]."
He said his team would have to to find ways to win against Bowling Green.
"For us to win games, we all have to be on the same page," Hall said.
The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
