Three Eastern Michigan University football players were reportedly charged with assault stemming from an incident which took place off-campus Friday afternoon, according to a Monday afternoon MLive story.
Senior cornerback Darius Scott as well as junior Quincy Jones and redshirt junior Jay Jones – both receivers – were allegedly involved in an incident which took place early Friday afternoon in the Huron River Road and Leforge Road area.
According to the story, Greg Steiner, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations said the players were still on the team as of Saturday’s season opener against Morgan State University.
Steiner also told MLive that the athletic department was following its policy of not commenting on legal matters involving student-athletes until the matter is resolved.
