Sept. 12
Three students were robbed at gunpoint on College Place at 12:21 a.m. None of the victims were hurt. The Ypsilanti Police Department was able to track down the suspects and recover some of the stolen property.
A student burned a white board in a study room lounge in Sellers Residence Hall. The crime was reported on Sept. 12, but was believed to have occurred between Sept. 10, at 7:00 p.m. and Sept. 11, at 7:05 p.m. There are currently no suspects.
A female resident reported a male resident in Pittman Residence Hall touched her inappropriately at 1:32 p.m. The crime occurred at 4:30 a.m. and is still under investigation. The suspect will face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards.
A male student’s laptop was stolen from Alexander Music Building at 3:13 p.m. after the student left it unattended to go to another room. The crime is currently under investigation. There are no current suspects.
Seven members of the EMU marching band reported having property stolen from them on Cornell and Huron River Dr. at 6:21 p.m. The crime was believed to have occurred between 5:38 p.m. and 6:21 p.m. A description of the suspects was provided, and the case is currently under investigation.
Sept. 13
Officers noticed an intoxicated student stumbling through the Wise Residence Hall Parking Lot near the parking meters at 1:56 a.m. He was believed to have been drinking, and upon further investigation, officers found a small amount of what appeared to be marijuana on his person. The student was transported to Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital. He may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards.
Officers smelled marijuana inside a vehicle during a routine traffic stop near Washtenaw Ave. and Fairview Circle at 9:07 a.m. Upon further investigation, they found the driver’s license was suspended. He was given a ticket for the driving with a suspended license and cited for paraphernalia.
Sept. 14
An intoxicated female student was spotted stumbling through Putnam Residence Hall at 2:25 a.m. She was transported to Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital and will not be facing any charges. However, she may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards.
During a routine traffic stop on Hamilton Street and Emmet Street, at 3:12 a.m., officers detected the odor of marijuana. The driver, male, was cited for paraphernalia.
A male was stopped on Michigan Ave. and River St. at 3:37 a.m. after it had been determined he had been drinking and driving after committing a traffic violation. The prosecutor will determine the charges.
A male student contacted emergency services after he was struck in the eye with a full beer can at Normal Street and Pearl Street at 3:49 a.m. The crime occurred between 2:50 a.m. and 3:49 a.m. There are no current suspects and the student was transported to Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Officers were notified of a highly intoxicated student in Hoyt Residence Hall at 4:38 a.m. The student was issued a minor in possession citation. He was transported to Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital and may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards.
A female student was cited for disorderly conduct with residence staff in Pittman Residence Hall at 6:12 p.m. The call was made on the student after she had created a disturbance due to the escort rules. She may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards.
