The Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center announced earlier today that Chance The Rapper will be coming to Ypsilanti to perform on Wednesday Oct. 8, 2014.
The 21-year-old Chicago native started rapping in high school and released his first mixtape, 10 Day, on Apr. 3, 2012. Chance has had recent success due to his second mixtape, Acid Rap, which he released on Apr. 30, 2013. Popular tracks on the mixtape include Juice, Chain Smoker and Favorite Song. Rolling Stone listed the mixtape at 26 of their top 50 best albums of 2013. Chance has also been featured on multiple tracks with the likes of Childish Gambino, Skrillex and Lil Wayne.
Chance has been opening for Mac Miller and Earl Sweatshirt including a performance at the Fillmore in Detroit on Jul. 23, 2013.
Chance just recently headlined for his hometown crowd in Chicago at the Lollapalooza music festival where he brought out fellow Chicago native R. Kelly.
His opening acts will be announced at a later date.
Tickets go on sale Sept. 2 at noon.
Doors open at 7pm.
