Women’s golf finishes 2nd at Delores Black Falcon Invitational

Women’s Golf grabbed a 2nd place finish this weekend at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational. This marks their third top- five finish of the season, and their second top five finish in the last two tournaments.

MAC Preview @ Fishers, Ind. Tied for 3rd place

UNCW Seahawk Classic @ Wilimington, N.C. 5th place

The Eagles shot 633 as a team. Ball State University grabbed 1st 1st place finishing with a 628- team total.. Bowling Green State University finished four strokes behind EMU to finish in third 3rd place.

The Eagles had three golfers finish in a top-20 position. Kelsey Murphy finished in a tie for second 2nd place. Sylvie Williams finished in 14thth place and. Corey Crossan finished in a tie for 19th place.

Murphy’s 2nd place finish in this tournament marks her second top five finish of the season and career. Previously, Murphy tied with Williams for 3rd3rd place along with teammate Williams at the MAC Preview, both of them shooting 152. They both shot 152.

Round One Results

The Eagles shot 305 as a team, and in the first round finishing in 2nd 2nd place only a stroke behind Ball State, who shot 304 for their first1st place spot.

Murphy – 5th place – 75

Williams – Tie for 6th place – 76

Crossan – Tie for 9th place – 77

Karyn Lee Ping – Tie for 9th place – 77

Lois Schoof – 34th place – 81

**Usanee Laopattananont competed individually and finished round one in a tie for 81st after shooting an 89.

Round Two Results

The Eagles shot 328 in the second round for a total of 633 to land in 2nd place for the tournament. Ball State shot 324 in the second round for a total of 628 to win the tournament. Bowling Green shot 318 as a team for a total of 637 to move up the leaderboard and steal 3rd place.

Williams – 14th place – 83 (159 overall)

Crossan – Tie for 19th place – 84 (161 overall)

Ping – Tie for 35th place – 88 (165 overall)

Schoof – Tie for 35th place – 84 (165 overall)

**Lapattananont – 82nd place – 87 (176 overall)

The Eagles will pick up play April 25-27 in Fishers, Ind. at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
