Eastern Michigan University football coach Chris Creighton will make a base annual salary of $400,000 according to his new contract, which will last a maximum of five seasons.
However, if he is employed on Jan. 1, 2015, an additional year will be added to the agreement, which means it would end on Dec. 31, 2019.
The Standard Fringe Benefit Package includes $25,000 annually for a radio show appearance and several incentives linked to team performance and attendance at games.
Creighton will make an additional $25,000 if Eastern makes a bowl game and another $25,000 if it wins the bowl game.
If the Eagles win or share the Mid-American Conference Western Division title, Creighton will be entitled to a lump sum bonus payment equal to $10,000.
For each academic year the team has a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher for the academic year, then the Employee shall be entitled to a lump sum bonus of $5,000.
Creighton was hired to the position in December.
