Putting team before individual accolades is what Mike Fisher believes in and the pay-off was realized.
For the first time in his career, Fisher was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Feb. 3.
“I am really happy to have won this award,” Fisher said. “I couldn’t do it without my teammates pushing me every single week. I thought the Miami meet was a good one not only for me, but the team.”
The Saline native played his part in securing the Green and White’s 66th-consecutive MAC dual win in the matchup against Miami University.
EMU defeated Miami University 175-125 and wrapped up yet another undefeated conference dual season, Feb. 1.
Fisher won both the breaststroke events over Miami’s Evan Bader, one of the top breaststrokers in the conference.
The junior claimed the 100-breast in 56.72 and the 200-breast in 2:04.76, both of which were the fastest marks in the MAC for the week.
