Explore Eastern—

High school and transfer students can apply for admission at Eastern Michigan University, free of charge, at the Explore Eastern Open House. The event is on Saturday, Nov. 23 and begins at the Student Center on campus. It is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

While at Explore Eastern, students can talk with EMU faculty about future decision-making and their educational goals. Also, deans from each of the colleges will be offering lectures about the available programs situated at their individual colleges. Leaders from other areas of the campus, such as dining and housing, will also be on hand to talk. Tours of the EMU campus will be given at 9 a.m., 11:25 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. All attendees can bring family members and friends.

Attendees may park in the Student Center lot off Oakwood Drive. Potential students should register soon at Explore Eastern Open House or call 800-GOTOEMU.

A glimpse at E-TV—

E-TV is Eastern Michigan University’s student-run campus cable TV station.

According to EMU’s Division of Communications, roughly 20 students volunteer for the student-produced station. It airs on Channel 18 and also YouTube.

The station is an extension of the Division of Communications, and was founded two decades ago with the help of campus cable coordinator, John Rice, the article says.

The station focuses on all issues from campus life to sports talk.

EMU food drive—

Eastern Michigan University Athletics and Food Gatherers of Washtenaw County began a food drive at the beginning of November that will extend to the end of the month. Anyone can donate canned foods to the main entrance of the Convocation Center.
