Here is the Mid-American Conference roundup for Week Six:
Northern Illinois University Huskies 38, Kent State University Golden Flashes 24
In the rematch of last season’s MAC Championship Game, NIU junior running back Cameron Stingily stole the show as he rushed for a career-high 266 yards on 37 carries.
Kent State running back Dri Archer led all receivers with 80 yards on four catches and a touchdown.
Ball State University Cardinals 48, University of Virginia Cavaliers 24
Ball State senior quarterback Keith Wenning went 23-of-41 passing for 346 yards, threw for two and ran for a touchdown while junior running back Jahwan Edwards ran for 155 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Virginia sophomore quarterback David Watford was 21-of-36 for 209 yards to go along with an interception. Junior running back Keith Parks scored two touchdowns and ran for 104 yards on 16 carries.
BSU scored 17 of the last 20 points in the fourth quarter to silence Virginia.
Central Michigan University Chippewas 21, Miami University RedHawks 9
Central Michigan sophomore running back Saylor Lavallii ran for 151 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns to give them their first MAC victory of the season. Freshman Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore added a rushing TD.
Miami freshman running back Austin Gearing finished with 108 yards rushing on 15 carries.
Ohio University Bobcats 43, University of Akron Zips 3
Ohio senior quarterback Tyler Tettleton completed 14-of-21 passes and threw for two touchdowns and an interception. They scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to go up 30-3 at halftime.
Ohio’s defense held Akron to 157 total yards and was unable to find the end zone as a result.
Toledo University Rockets 47, Western Michigan University Broncos 20
Toledo senior running back David Fluellen ran for 220 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns. The Rockets accumulated 360 rushing yards for the game.
Western Michigan freshman quarterback Zach Terrell went 10-of-13 passing for 184 yards and threw an interception.
Bowling Green State University Falcons 28, University of Massachusetts Minutemen 7
Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson went 11-of-20 passing for 166 yards and threw for three touchdowns. Sophomore running back Travis Greene ran for 160 yards on 22 carries for BGSU.
UMass sophomore running back Jamal Wilson ran for 119 yards on 20 carries but failed to make the end zone.
