For the second time in her career, Eastern Michigan University senior forward/midfielder Stephanie Clarke has been named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the week.
Clarke becomes the fourth Eagle to be honored with the MAC Player of The Week in the last three weeks. The other three were junior forward Bianca Rossi Sept. 30 and co-Players of the Week sophomore goalkeeper Megan McCabe and junior forward Angela Vultaggio Sept. 23.
The London, Ontario native scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory on the road against Bowling Green State University Oct. 4, making her third penalty kick this season in as many attempts.
On Oct. 6, at Central Michigan University, Clarke assisted on two goals, one by junior defenseman Emily Dzik and the other by senior midfielder and co-captain Cara Cutaia, to help the team to a 3-0 win.
Clarke also won the award as a freshman in Oct. 2010, after a four-point week (one goal, three assists) in a 6-4 win against BGSU and a 1-1 draw at Miami University.
In 12 games this season, she has scored ten points with three goals and four assists.
Clarke and the rest of the team will look to add to their six-game winning streak as they host Ball State University on Friday at 4 p.m. at Scicluna Field.
