Add three more regular season basketball games to the Convocation Center as the “Back to Bowen” event set for Nov. 12-14 has been moved because of unanticipated issues relating to Bowen Field House.
“Due to unanticipated issues relating to Bowen Field House, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics made the decision to relocate the ‘Back to Bowen’ events to the Convocation Center,” Eastern Michigan University Athletic Director Heather Lyke said on emueagles.com.
Despite the unexpected move back to the Convocation Center, EMU “Superfan” Carl Ebach thinks it is the right move to not have it at Bowen.
“I think it is the right move,” Ebach said.
“I think the cost of doing it in Bowen would have been too much with prospect of little return.”
Despite the venue change, the three basketball games will still take place at the previously scheduled times as before.
The EMU men’s basketball team will host Concordia University, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. before taking on Robert Morris University, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the women’s basketball team plays Butler University, Nov. 13, also at 7 p.m. The EMU alumni game is scheduled prior to the Nov. 14 contest from 5-7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
Ticket prices remain unchanged for the two men’s hoops games at $10 per ticket, while game tickets for the women’s game are set at $8. Students will still be able to enter the games free of charge with their valid student IDs. Shuttle service from campus is still being finalized and will be released as soon as details become available.
All apparel pre-orders will be automatically refunded.
Fans that previously purchased tickets for the event will be able to exchange tickets. The EMU Ticket Office will contact ticket holders next week with seat exchange information. Current season ticket holders will receive complimentary tickets for each game, which will be included in their season ticket packages.
