EMU Police issues update on off-campus robbery of EMU employee

EMU Police Department has provided an update to a timely warning given on September 23, 2013 about an armed robbery that occurred off-campus in the city of Ypsilanti. The crime took place near the intersection of Summit and Sheridan Streets, which is located one block south of the main campus and Washtenaw Avenue.

According to the updated timely warning, the Ypsilanti Police Department has identified the suspect as Duane Tyrone Lee. The YPD has investigated that Lee is responsible for two more armed robberies that happened in Ypsilanti during the last week. The update also states that during each of the robberies, the suspect had a handgun. The suspect also threatened to shoot the victim.

The update states that Lee is described as a male, African-American, 6’2, thin build at 160 lbs., with teardrop tattoos on his face. Lee is also considered to be armed and dangerous and might be staying in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area.
