Eastern Michigan University Regents approve capital plan—
The EMU Board of Regents approved a capital plan of $9.2 million dollars for the fiscal year 2013-2014.
The plan has been approved for upgrades across the EMU campus which includes academic facilities and technology, investments in the new Physician Assistant Program and an increase in enrollment for the College of Health and Human Services.
During 2008-2009, and 2012-2013, capital spending reached $220 million, with 10 percent in dining and housing renovations, athletic amenities, campus infrastructure, and safety and security at EMU. Academic facilities across campus saw two-thirds of the $220 million going to improvements.
The self-funded Science Complex reached $90 million dollars in its Phase II renovations, and Pray-Harrold also received upgrades, along with other areas on campus.
