There are certain aspects of womanhood that contain unspoken rules — the things that women understand and things that leave guys scratching their heads. Following in the footsteps of MTV2’s successful show, “Guy Code” on April 23, MTV launched the new series, “Girl Code” to take a peek inside the minds of women.
The cast consists of an effortlessly funny group of female comedians as well as some of the male cast members from “Guy Code.” Together, they explore topics ranging from dads and roommates to frenemies and ex-boyfriends.
The cast holds nothing back and creates a hilariously raunchy discussion that would make your grandma cringe. Besides being just flat-out funny, “Girl Code” is relatable. The show is real women talking about situations that can happen to any female, which is what makes it so appealing.
“Girl Code” should also be applauded for its fearlessness — the cast isn’t too shy to get down and dirty and talk about topics, including penises, masturbation and sexting.
This is a sneak peak at some of the one-of-a-kind advice that cast members have offered viewers on episodes of “Girl Code”:
• Being classy: Alice Wetterlund says, “If you got it, flaunt it. Class, not ass. Class plus ass, that’s Beyonce.”
• Why Girls Drink: Shalyah Evans says, “Girls drink ‘cause they wanna be drunk.”
• Masturbation: Jamie Lee says, “You do realize it feels like pizza tastes.”
• STDs: Jessimae Peluso says, “You have one coochie kingdom. If you don’t do everything to keep this clean, you should be a dude.”
• Mean girls: Nicole Byer says, “Mean girls are just mean. They’ll like steal your boyfriend and laugh in your face about it.”
• Watching sports: Jamie Lee says, “20 seconds in football time is kill me in girl time.”
• Cheating: Carly Aquilino says, “If a guy that you’re dating kisses a girl, has sex with a girl, talks to a girl, says hi to a girl, texts a girl, thinks about a girl — that’s cheating.”
• Getting dumped: Alesha Renee says, “Girl code for getting dumped is get okay with being alone. It’s totally fine.”
Of course, not all of the discussions will be relatable or apply to all females. But the quirky, uncensored and downright hilarious cast make for a wild 30 minutes exploring what we now know to be the sacred girl code.
