The Eastern Michigan University wrestling team had four of its wrestlers recognized by the Mid- American Conference on Wednesday.
Redshirt senior wrestler Aaron Sulzer was selected for his fourth consecutive season to the academic All-MAC team.
EMU had more Eagles honored when redshirt senior Chris Eggert and redshirt freshmen Vincent Pizzuto and Michael Shaw made up the entire honorable mention list.
To qualify for this honor, the student athletes must have excelled in athletics and academics. At least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and participation in at least 50 percent of the contests are needed to receive the honor.
Only the accomplishments of the current season are considered, and first year students and junior college transfers are not eligible for the award.
Sulzer was one of 11 student-athletes named to the team, and Sulzer was the only one on the list to have received the honor for four straight years. Sulzer has had other accomplishments this season
including MAC Wrestler of the Week and MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Sulzer is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration with a 3.8 GPA.
Honorable mentions Eggert, Pizzuto and Shaw are pursing degrees in business management, management and criminal justice, respectively.
