Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the food you craved was delivered right to your doorstep? Instead of getting dressed, starting up your car and wasting precious time, wouldn’t you want someone else to do all of the dirty work for you?
Eastern Michigan University students Samuel Gant and Benjamin Phinisee came up with the idea for Good Guys Delivery while at a social gathering almost two years ago. They were baffled at the fact that no services existed that delivered “everything,” which is why they took it upon themselves to become hungry, ambitious businessmen and start delivering goods on a local basis, fulfilling the need for supply and demand.
“I was born in Detroit, and for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a businessman,” said Gant, who will be graduating from EMU in April with a Master of Business Administration. “I didn’t get involved in business for the money. I got involved because I wanted to be able to look at my work and have something in concrete to show for at the end of my lifetime.”
Phinisee, a psychology major, has a vision for Good Guys Delivery directly connected to what both individuals are striving to accomplish.
“I personally like that I get to help other small businesses grow,” Phinisee said. “We operate at no cost to the businesses that we are delivering for. We like to make sure that the customer knows that the $3.50 delivery charge doesn’t include a tip; it just covers how much it is necessary to make the business operate.”
Good Guys Delivery has a partnership with local restaurants such as Little Caesars, Dom Bakeries and Wolverine Grill, which allows them to be able to deliver food on campus. For all of the health conscious individuals, they also have a partnership with the Ypsilanti Food Co-op, which enables them to deliver organic foods on campus as well.
To place an order call their delivery number 877-340-9184, and the service is available 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. everyday.
