To close the regular season, the Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team will take on the Ball State Cardinals and the Toledo Rockets Nov. 9 and Nov. 10, respectively.
The Eagles’ record is currently 17-13 (7-7 Mid-American Conference) and they will be playing these matches on their home turf. The team landed a spot in the 2012 MAC Volleyball Tournament when they defeated Central Michigan University and Kent State University Nov. 1 and 3, respectively.
Out of the 63 times the Eagles have faced the Cardinals, BSU has won 41 times.
Sitting fifth in the MAC West Division, the Cardinals have a 6-8 MAC record and they rank third in the MAC in hitting percentage with .221.
The Cardinals also rank third in assists, right behind the Eagles in second place.
For BSU, Lisa Scott is ranked first in the MAC West Division in hitting percentage with a .33 clip in 100 sets and Kara Bate has 3.71 kills per set, ranking her fourth in the conference.
The Eagles have always been the dominating team when it comes to taking on the Rockets. Facing off 59 times over the years, the Eagles have won 47 of those games.
Although the Rockets were picked to finish sixth in the MAC, the team heads into the last week of regular season play with a conference-worst record of 2-12.
On the Rockets team, Dakota Harkins ranks eighth in attack percentage with .292 and ranks fourth in blocks at 1.10 per set, while Adria Pryor places sixth in the conference for assists with 10.33.
The Eagles will look to senior Rachel Iaquaniello to continue to set more records in her career at EMU. She ranks 26th in the NCAA for the most kills per set and has 1,247 career digs. Iaquaniello also ranks 33rd nationally in points per set with 4.79.
The Eagles will take on the Cardinals Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. and they will play the Rockets Nov. 10 at 7 p.m for Senior Night.
