The Real Clear Politics statistics showed nationwide Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will receive 47.3 percent of votes and President Barack Obama will receive 47.4 percent of votes, giving Obama a 0.1 percent lead.
The Real Clear Politics calculates its average by taking polling statistics of dozens of well-known news broadcasters and averaging them.
Some of these broadcasters include:
• ABC News, which shows Romney at 49 percent and Obama at 48 percent
• FOX News, which shows Romney and Obama tied at 49 percent
• Associated Press, which shows Romney at 46 percent and Obama at 47 percent
• Gallup, which shows Romney at 51 percent and Obama at 46 percent
• CBS News, which shows Romney at 47 percent and Obama at 48 percent
