The Eastern Michigan Women’s volleyball team is looking to end their slump this weekend by bouncing back as they open the Mid-American Conference portion of their schedule against Northern Illinois and
rival Western Michigan.
The last four games have been a struggle for the team who went 0-4 on a road trip to Rochester and a meet in Ann Arbor.
The team picked up losses to Oakland, Duke, Western Kentucky and host University of Michigan in a sweep of three sets.
The team started the season off at 10-2. They opened the year winning their first four games, including a big road win against Memphis. In early September, the team showed the ability to win on the road with another four wins coming from the state of Texas.
The losing streak puts them to 10-6 on the season and they’ll need to bounce back to keep hold of their lead in the MAC western division.
A key game will be against Northern Illinois (9-7), who sit second behind the Eagles and only one game behind in their standings.
The games will be held at EMU’s Convocation Center, where it is also officially alumni weekend for the team, Sept. 21 against Western and Sept. 22 against Northern Illinois.
Both nights the matches start at 7 p.m.
