Bob Lutz, who has had a 47- year career in the auto industry and is a former vice chairman of General Motors, will speak at an Eastern Michigan University event about his book and experiences in the industry.
Lutz is known as a “legendary car guy” who aggressively pushed for innovation and higher-quality cars that would captivate the buying public.
Lutz will share his perspective in a talk entitled, “An Evening with Bob Lutz” from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 in the EMU Student Center Ballroom. The event will feature the talk, dinner and a copy of his new book, “Car Guys vs. Bean Counters.”
Tickets are $50 each.
The event is sponsored by the EMU College of Technology, The Detroit-Windsor Chapter of the American Foundry Society and The Detroit Chapter of the American Society for Metals.
All proceeds from the event will go to help support scholarship opportunities in metal casting or materials science curriculum for area students.
