Paige Redditt was able to score with ease in the 64-52 win against the Northern Illinois Huskies at the Convocation Center on Sunday.
The senior forward scored 17 points, and grab eight rebounds. Redditt also blocked two shots, which moved her into second place at EMU for career blocks with 105.
Redditt wasn’t the only one to score in the double digits. Tavelyn James scored 16, Natachia Watkins finished with 13, and Olivia Fouty had 11.
To start off the game, the Eagles (9-6, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) wasted no time in taking the lead, as they scored the first eight points. From that point on, the Eagles’ lead did not falter. At half time, the score was 28-12 in favor of EMU.
At the beginning of the second half, the Eagles went right back to building their lead and with 12:47 left, EMU had a 25-point lead on the Huskies (6-8, 0-2 MAC).
The Eagles defense was tight throughout the game, and they rarely let the Huskies penetrate the paint. The Eagles, however, were able to get into the paint a lot in the second half. Although the team was not able to knock down any three-pointers, the post players were able to make many layups.
The Eagles will travel to face Toledo at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
