Eagles win third straight

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles won their third straight Mid-American Conference match as they defeated the Miami Redhawks in straight sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-23). The Eagles opened and closed strong.

The Eagles were led in part by Kristen Baker and Ashley Mason. Mason contributed 34 assists on the night and Baker had a .750 attack percentage off of 13 kills. Haley Stein led the Eagles in digs with 17 while Rachel Iaquaniello chipped in with 11 kills on the night to lead the Eagles toward victory.

The Redhawks had some key contributors, Madison Hardy led the attack for the Redhawks with 21 digs and Jenn Caylor contributed 12 kills, 3 digs and 1 ace. But the Redhawks’ efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Eagles.

The Eagles improve to 16-6 (4-3 in MAC) and the Redhawks fall to 12-9 (3-4 in MAC).

The Eagles’ next match is Saturday Oct. 15 in Bowling Green when they take on Bowling Green in a MAC match up.
