The Eastern Michigan University soccer team will play against the Ball State Cardinals at 3 p.m. Friday at Scicluna Field.

Both teams are coming off close losses to MAC foes. The Eagles (2-11-2, 2-5-1 Mid-American Conference) are coming off of a 0-1 double-overtime loss to Western Michigan while the Cardinals (9-5-3, 4-2-2 MAC) come into Friday’s game after suffering an 0-2 loss against Kent State.

It’s been a rough season for the Eagles thus far but they are preparing for a three game home stand to finish the season.

In their game against Ball State, look for the Eagles to get off more shots. The Broncos out shot the Eagles 23-8 in their last game.

The Eagles are going to have to get more opportunities to score if they expect to win. They take 14.3 shots per game while opponents are averaging 17.3.

Look for players like leading scorer Angela Vultaggio and Cara Cuataia to step up and get plenty of shot opportunities. They are going to have to play well if the Eagles are to finish the season strong.

Ball State isn’t a slouch and the Eagles are going to have to limit their shots in this one. The Cardinals take 18.2 shots per game and hold opponents to 12 per game.

Also the Eagles are going to have to slow down Cardinal forward Jasmine Moses. It’s going to be an interesting match up of freshman forwards as Vultaggio and Moses both lead their teams in scoring. We see who can win this match up as it can dictate who wins the game.
