Depot Town Cruise Nights— If you’re an autophile, be sure to check out the Depot Town Cruise Nights. Set in the back drop of historic Depot Town every Thursday
night, weather permitting, classic cars line the road by Sidetrack and Aubree’s.
For those who aren’t so into cars, take advantage of the music that is as much of a staple in America as the cars. This weekly event is free to attend, a bonus for any cash-strapped college student. The event begins the first Thursday in June and runs through mid-September.
Ypsilanti Heritage Festival – Mark your calendars now for the annual Ypsilanti Heritage Festival. Running from August 19 through the 21, it features all kind of events, many of which are free.
Take part in things like the Third Annual Bed Race, watch or take part in the Rubber Duck Race or watch the annual parade downtown. Also stop by the Riverside Beer Garden for a brew or visit the Mobile Interactive Military Museum to get your daily dose of history. This year’s festival is being held in honor the people who preserved the history of the area’s aviation.
Crossroads Music Festival – If you love music, don’t miss the Crossroads music festival. This annual event lasts several weeks through the summer and features many different bands.
Enjoy themed nights like Country Night, which features bands like Julianne & the Rogues and GW Station & the Black Crystal Review or R&B, Soul and Gospel.

Ypsilanti Farmers’ Markets – The weekly Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers’ Market is helping to make eating healthy easy. Every Tuesday, Growing Hope, an organization striving to promote things like healthy food access, holds the market that runs from May through Oct.
They not only have fresh fruits and veggies, but things like baked goods, herbs and jewelry. They also have kid (or kid at heart) friendly activities like balloon animals and face painting.
If you can’t make the Growing Hope’s market, visit the Depot Town Farmer’s Market, which is also open May through Oct..
Growing Hope is on Tuesdays from 2 – 6 p.m. and is located at the Key Bank Building parking lot on Hamilton and Michigan, Depot Town’s is every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Freighthouse Market Plaza.
