Oct. 6
On Oakwood Street, a subject was arrested on an EMU bench warrant for a traffic offense at 6:04 p.m.

An unattended laptop was stolen from Strong Hall at 8:41 p.m.

Residents in Sellers Hall, were cited for disturbing the peace after having a verbal altercation at 3:25 p.m.

Deputies assigned to Ypsilanti Township discovered a larce ny took place in the 100 block of Stevens Drive. The suspect opened and unlocked a car door to gain entry and took a car stereo and laptop.

A burglary occurred in the 8000 block of Hummingbird Drive. The suspect smashed out a basement window to gain entry around 3:30 p.m. Three gold chains and miscellaneous rings were taken.

In the area of Geddes Road and North Harris Road a larceny took place after a suspect smashed out a driver’s side window to gain entry to a car. Miscellaneous tools, a GPS system, television set, IPod, duffle bag and a Sirius radio were taken.

In the 5000 block of Bridge Road, deputies responded to a disorderly conduct complaint. The deputies contacted a subject and discovered she was wanted on outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested without incident and lodged at the county jail.

Oct. 7
Several males were cited after engaging in a verbal altercation near the Walton Hall parking meters at 2:35 p.m.

A purse snatching occurred in the 2000 block of Bryn Mawr Lane. Deputies discovered the victim was getting into her vehicle around 7:30 a.m. when she was pushed from behind. The suspect forced his weight on her back, took her purse and fled the scene. The victim observed two unknown males running from the scene. Credit cards, cash and a driver’s license were in the purse.

In the 7000 block of Bunton Road, a garage was burglarized. The suspect opened an unlocked side door to gain entry around 11:30 p.m. Miscellaneous tools and two bicycles were taken.

A barn was burglarized in the 1000 block of Martz Road. The suspect slid under a rear sliding door to gain entry at 9 p.m. and took miscellaneous tools and four chainsaws.

The front glass window to a business in the 1000 block of East Michigan Avenue was smashed out. The suspect entered the business through the shattered glass window and took a car speaker at 10:15 p.m. The speaker was later recovered.

Deputies responded to a home invasion in progress in the 1600 block of Smith Street. Neighbors witnessed two male subjects inside of a residence and then observed them flee from the residence into the neighborhood. WCSO Central Dispatch received suspect information and two deputies apprehended one suspect a few blocks away from the residence. The subject was in possession of three stolen hand guns that were taken from the scene. The suspect, a 19-year-old male Ypsilanti Township resident, will be arraigned at the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

Oct. 8
Subjects attempted to flee from an officer on Rice Street near Cross Street at 1:25 a.m., but they were taken into custody.

Two students were issued trespassing citations after they entered the Pray-Harrold construction area at 2:58 a.m.
