Toledo hands Eastern Michigan another loss

TOLEDO, Ohio – Eastern Michigan University’s last chance at a win will come next week, as it lost its 11th in a row Friday.

Toledo scored 23 in the second quarter to pull away with a 47-21 Mid-American Conference win at the Glass Bowl. The Eagles will play Akron at 2 p.m. Friday.

“None of us want to go down in infamy as a winless team,” coach Ron English said. “We’ve been motivated—that’s not the issue. We try hard.”

UT (5-6, 3-4) was led by tailbacks Morgan Williams and DaJuane Collins, who combined for 299 yards rushing. It converted 9-of-15 attempts on third down.

Quarterback Alex Gillett had 273 yards total offense and two touchdowns for EMU (0-11, 0-7), but also had four turnovers.
