Eastern Michigan University freshmen Christopher Reid and Anthony Colucci await a Nov. 17 preliminary hearing on the burglaries committed in Phelps Hall. They were arraigned on Saturday.
The two 18-year-olds are suspected of involvement in five burglaries on the EMU campus over the past several weeks, the two most recent incidents happening last week on Tuesday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 6.
“We think that there were four burglaries in Phelps and one in Sellars,” EMU Police Chief Greg O’Dell said.
The burglaries last week in Phelps occurred between 4-7 a.m., and the rooms were targeted because of unlocked doors. EMU Police urge everyone on campus to always keep their rooms locked.
“It’s a message we preach all the time. After we put out timely warning about doors being unlocked, we had another incident in the same location,” O’Dell said.
