Women's basketball team to hold tryouts

The Eastern Michigan University athletic department announced Wednesday that the women’s basketball team would be holding open tryouts for the 2014-15 season.

Update: Victim of alleged assault by EMU football players was cousin of suspect in Demarius Reed murder

Three Eastern Michigan University Football players, Quincy Jones, Darius Scott and Jay Jones, were brought into court on assault charges, Wednesday according to a report from MLive. The alleged victim, Demarko Taylor, 24, is the cousin of Kristopher Pratt, the Detroit man who pleaded guilty to the second degree murder of EMU wide receiver Demarius Reed. According to the police, no weapons were used in the assault.

College comes with many expenses. There is money due for tuition, classes, parking passes and most of all the dreaded expensive costs of books. Books are a necessity, but also a nuisance. My freshman year of college the cost for all of my books in the first semester alone was $350.

The Eastern Michigan University soccer team won its second consecutive game Sunday, with a 2-0 victory over the Indiana University Hoosiers at Scicluna Field.The Eagles last played the Hoosiers on Sept. 6, 2013 – leaving with a 1-0 loss.

After the emotional roller coaster the Eastern Michigan University football team rode last year – the death of receiver Demarius Reed, the firing of former coach Ron English and the usual attendance woes – it appears as if first-year coach Chris Creighton has made strides toward improving the atmosphere in the locker room.

Julez DeShetler and Queso Tone catch up after a short hiatus due to illness and someones birthday. The pair talk about their semesters and the final big events of the year, the Eastern Echo Media Gala and Rock The Patio. The latter playing host to Eagletainment's very own Queso Tone as a musical performance, with the shows closing act Anthony Roperti a former guest of the show.
