The Eastern Michigan University Student Center will be hosting a water drive for Flint citizens. If students or local residents would like to participate, bring bottled water to the Student Center on Monday, January 25 from 3-5 p.m.
There are other locations to donate as well: Pittsfield Township Hall, Community High School, Washtenaw Community College (Morris Lawrence Building), Saline Liberty School, Dexter Community Schools (any school building), Milan High School, Washtenaw Intermediate School District and Lincoln Consolidated Schools.
Washtenaw Water County Drive Coalition consists of different institutions all over Washtenaw county. These institutions range from Ann Arbor to Milan to Ypsilanti and other cities in the area. These unique establishments have come together to help out the unfortunate lack of clean water in Flint.
The Washtenaw Water Drive Coalition acquired a special price through a partnership with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union and Meijer Inc. to buy and move the bottled water at only twenty five percent of the retail price. The Washtenaw Water Drive Coalition is aiming to achieve enough money to transport 100,000 bottles to Flint citizens.
A Go Fund Me page is available to collect donations: https://www.gofundme.com/tqk68e24. One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards purchasing water through this special pricing arrangement.
