Eastern Michigan University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America will host the annual Student Development Conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Student Center Room 352.
Andrea Mellendorf, a junior public relations student and a PRSSA executive board member, said the conference features three speakers, a resume workshop, networking opportunities and refreshments.
Stan Stein of Weber Shandwick Public Relations is this year’s keynote speaker. Stein’s talk will focus on the theme, international public relations in today’s global economy.
A panel comprised of public relations and marketing professions will participate in a paneled discussion in the afternoon. Mellendorf said the panelists will also offer resume assistance.
While the LBC-approved event is free and open to the public and all majors, registration is required.
“Eastern Michigan University PRSSA is a student organization that aims to prepare members for a career in the public relations field through bimonthly meetings, agency tours, conference opportunities and internships,” Mellendorf said.
